Baseball Training for Needham Athletes

Needham baseball families are used to driving: a hitting coach in one town, a throwing program in another, a gym in a third. Parsons Sports Performance puts the whole development system under one roof, about 15 minutes down I-95 in Norwood.

PSP is strength-first by design. Velocity, exit velo, and a faster 60 are outputs of force, strength, and movement quality — so that’s what the program builds. One evaluation, one plan, one place.

One program instead of three commutes

Strength and conditioning, arm care, recovery services, and regular performance testing all live in the same building and the same plan. Your athlete’s arm-care work knows what his lifting block looks like, because the same staff wrote both. That’s the difference between a program and a collection of appointments.

Built around a Needham season

Whether your athlete plays at Needham High in the Bay State Conference, at St. Sebastian’s, or with a summer club, programming adjusts to the calendar — building strength in the off-season and protecting it in-season while managing throwing load. Weekday sessions run late morning and after school, plus Saturday mornings.

The numbers

Ben Samuels (Duke ’27) raised his outfield velo from 85 to 93 mph and his mound velo from 82 to 93 while adding 120 lbs to his squat at PSP. Across the program, engaged athletes average +5 mph of throwing velocity, +10 mph of exit velocity, +140 lbs on deadlift, and +115 lbs on squat over 12 weeks. In the Class of 2025, 100% continued to collegiate athletics; 42% committed D1.

FAQs for Needham families

How long is the drive from Needham?

About 15 minutes for most of Needham — straight down I-95/Route 128 to the Route 1 corridor in Norwood. The facility is at 1200 Boston Providence Hwy #110.

Can my athlete keep training during the high school season?

Yes — that’s the point of a program rather than a boot camp. In-season blocks are built to maintain the strength he built while managing throwing volume and recovery, coordinated with his game schedule.

What’s the first step?

An evaluation. We baseline strength, speed, and movement, walk you through what the numbers mean, and build the program from there. Call 781-269-5329 or book online.
