You may be on the lighter side and new to training. If this is you, increasing absolute strength and adding lean mass to your frame in the weight room needs to be a major priority this off-season. Adding strength and lean mass increases the amount of energy going into the ball or bat while pitching and hitting. Maximizing Power Output requires being very strong. Adding lean tissue to the right areas also minimizes the risk of injury. A good training program increases the capacity of the tissue greater than the stress placed on it in sport. This is very low hanging fruit for athletes to add 4-7mph to Velo and 8-10mph to Exit Velo in as little as 12 weeks.
